Workshops of inTruST project

Partner schools develop scenarios that deal with different aspects of inquiry-based learning and are evaluated and implemented internally at each school and then externally by the project partners.
5 learning, teaching and training workshops will be held at the partner schools and at the National Technical University of Athens, with teachers from all partner schools.
The workshops deal with individual aspects of inquiry-based learning, and each hosting partner school deals with the topic in which the school has particular expertise.

Workshop Description

Workshop 1 (12.5.25 - 16.5.25)

at BG/BRG Schwechat and GTVS Vienna
Teachers experience the “best practice STEAM education” workshop with the focus on Technic and Design. Beginning of reflective cycle of development of workshop resources and lesson plans.

Workshop 2 (6.10.25 - 10.10.25)

at Institut de Sales, Viladecans, Spain
In a detailed feedback round, each of the 15 learning units is improved through a comprehensive peer review. The academic partners demonstrate how the 8 NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) activities can be integrated into the learning units. In a video workshop, teachers learn how to shoot and edit a supplementary video while implementing the learning units. Teachers learn how to motivate students of primary and lower secondary education to increase their interest in science through IBL. Participants experience practical activities and discuss the factors that influence student interest in science.

Workshop 3 (18.5.26 - 22.5.26)

at Escola san Josep, Terrassa, Spain
The purpose of the workshop is to evaluate the implementation of educational scenarios and to develop the final version of the units of learnings with the integration of the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) activities. Supporting teachers in the planning cycle will give them the opportunity to collaborate and share best practices. Teachers experience and discuss best practice examples how to increase the interest of primary school pupils in science

Workshop 4 (5.10.26 - 9.10.26)

at BG/BRG Gmünd, Austria
The workshop begins with a full-day visit to the VISTA Science Experience Center in Klosterneuburg. The programme continues the project's reflective cycle by providing opportunities for participants to exchange experiences from the classroom implementation of the inTruST learning scenarios, reflect on lessons learned, and collaboratively identify strategies for further improving inquiry-based teaching practices. Teachers also experience best practice scenarios on IBL in a science lab.

Workshop 5

at NTUA, Athens
Teachers evaluate and extend their experience with communities of practice (CoP) to share IBL scenarios with colleagues in their schools.
